Simple Woman's Daybook

I am posting my Simple Woman's Daybook for the month of March.

Outside my window.....It is the first day of spring here in Maryland with clouds and a little cool.

I am thinking.....It is a great challenge to prepare lessons for my journal writing class.  I was hoping to be able to plan more during our long winter break.  Unfortunately, it didn't work out.  Maybe I can accomplish more during our upcoming Easter break. Here are some pictures from our class today:

I am thankful for......my middle school daughter and her friends.  I picked them up on March 1 at the mall after school and then we all went to the upper school play of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.  They are such a beautiful group of girls and they all get along so well.  I couldn't believe how grown up they all looked when I met them at the mall.  It is wonderful to hear them laugh and dialogue together.

On March 4th the girls attended the winter sports night to receive awards with their swim team buddies.  I am so grateful for their Catholic education.

In the kitchen.....pizza.

I am wearing.....grey sweats, jacket, and pink shirt.

I am creating.....the craft and choosing a bible verse for the journal writing class.

I am going.....to pick up my son's car at the auto shop.  My two sons are snow boarding in Canada with a bunch of friends.  One of them left their car here for us to get it an oil change.  They all met at our house before they left on March 16th.  What an awesome group of young men who are growing in discipleship!

I am wondering.....how one of my older sons are doing in Canada because we just found out he fractured his caller bone again.  He seems to be in good spirits but said he is in only a little pain.  Unfortunately, I don't think he will be able to keep the sport of snow boarding up.  This is the second time he hurt his caller bone snow boarding.  I feel so bad for him.  He jokingly said, "he is taking advantage of universal health care in Canada."

I am hoping.....to be able to get a fence for our new puppy.  I have to bring her out on the leash often and it disrupts my homeschooling efforts with my first grader. Here is a picture of her today:

I am looking forward to.....going to the March for Marriage in WDC on March 26 with my first grader.

I am learning.....that my children are showing tremendous maturity in their actions.

Around the house.....the girls and dad just walked in the door and the puppy is running all over the place wagging her tail and crying.

I am pondering.....about the great pictures hubby took of my son's cub scout pack at the pinewood derby on March 16th.  His picture taking is improving.

A favorite quote for today....."A foundational starting base from where they get their knowledge is inexistent."  Rush Limbaugh

One of my favorite things.....was seeing my oldest daughter all dressed up and attending the father-daughter dance at her school.

A few plans for the rest of the week.....see doctor on Friday.

A peek into my day.....walking our puppy almost every hour today.

A picture to share.....

Sabbath Moments

I'd like to record my Sabbath Moments today.

1)  I really enjoyed talking with the other moms from my daughters eighth grade class when I picked her up from a sleepover with 17 girls.  I enjoyed a cup of coffee and thanked them for hosting this fun gathering for the girls.  They live much closer to the school than we do and our house is too far away from everyone to host something like this right now.  It was so good to see the girls bonding with each other and having fun.  Fellowship with the students parents is always a Sabbath Moment for me.

2)  Finally, here in Maryland we have a beautiful day and it is warmer.  It is so nice to have the heat off and some screens and windows open to enjoy God's Creation.

3)  I am so grateful for God's Word that I read today in preparing for my sons religious education class.  His word gives me so much peace.  The kids will love hearing about this bible passage.
