5 Minute Fridays

I'm participating in 5 Minute Fridays where you just write for 5 minutes about something you are grateful for in life.  I will include with my post some pictures.

So often, my illness surfaces and I have to go up on my medicine.  Usually, it occurs when my house is messy.  Therefore, the Lord lead me to clean some areas in my home.  I am so grateful that He lead me in this direction as my brain was getting too cluttered.  I had to do something.  Unfortunately, I had to get rid of some of the size 8's that are too small for me as now I wear an 11 (boo hoo).  I'm still grateful that I have enough items for size 11 so I don't have to go shopping.  Here are my before and after pictures:

Five Minute Friday: Beautiful

It's time for Five Minute Friday.  Today we write for five minutes without editing on the word beautiful.  Just click on the link to participate.

Attending the fire works this year was a beautiful sight.  We gathered with our friends at a near by park as we all enjoyed the sounds of Lone Star.  People swaying to the music, sitting in our lounge chairs talking and mingling, kids playing cards on the blankets sprawled out, fire works lighting up the sky, yummy sandwiches and snacks to eat, and drinks for everyone.  It was a beautiful sight to see and be involved in.  The best part was dancing in the parking lot while we were waiting for the traffic to start to move.  We played oldies songs and we were talking and dancing in the parking lot in the middle of the traffic jam.  We were the last people to leave.  At least we enjoyed waiting for the traffic to begin to move.  We danced for at east an hour.  Old friends and good times and much laughter made a beautiful evening.

Five Minute Friday

I'd like to try and join the flash mob for Five Minute Fridays today.  Unfortunately, by the time I receive word of it (Friday morning)...it's too late for me to post to the site.  Nevertheless, I'll try once again.  You just write for five minutes without editing while thinking about a keyword:  LISTEN is the word today.

I really need help organizing the house but no one will listen to me.  I'll be talking about it to my doctor today...someone who listens.

We have books and papers everywhere, three coaches in our living room, furniture my hubby wants to keep for our college sons when they move out, messy children, junk mail laying around, a dog who chews things and leaves her hair on the rug, a storage room that needs to be organized, and you get the picture....

No one in my family cares about this but me.  I've lived 26 years trying to organize this mess and with all the books from my kid's school years...it just piles up more and more.  No one listens to me though...like I'm being unreasonable.

I will see what my doctor says when I tell her about it.  Hopefully, she'll understand.  Nevertheless, it is part of my illness when the mess starts 'getting to me.'  How does one decipher if I'm right or just having symptoms?  We'll see what the doc says today...wish me luck.

I can't think straight in this mess.  I need help.  A professional organizer will help me for $1200.  We could afford it because we just received a gift from my mother-in-law.  Hubby doesn't care though.  I'm stressed out living in this mess and no one will listen to me!!!

Five Minute Friday

Write for 5 minutes without thinking or editing and join Lisa Jo's great meme today called Five Minute Friday.  The word we focus on while we're writing is:  FALL.  Just click on this link to participate.

Ready go:

Let the rain fall down today in Maryland...all day long.  A light a gentle rain.  We read three picture books and visited the library to receive our summer reading gift.  The librarian said, "once you read five books you can come for your gift."  After we asked for our gift, another librarian said, "come get your gift at the end of the program in August."  I felt like falling over and fainting.  One says one thing and another says another thing.  What do you expect from the government?

Oh well, it is a good day to read and visit the library with the rain falling down all day.  A little chillier today than it has been recently.  My son and daughter need the sweats on when they go to their lifeguarding jobs.  I asked my son how work was when he came home and he said, "boring."  I felt like falling over and fainting - just kidding.  Oh well, at least he has a job.  I replied, "yea, it's a boring kind of day.

My other son is spending time at our Maryland beach house with friends in the rain today.  Hopefully, they'll be able to spend some sunny days there before they return home.  Hubby will be going to the beach house after time trials for swim team.

I think I will fall down and faint if it rains tomorrow for time trials...just kidding.  The rain has been falling down lightly at a steady pace all day today.  My daughter is getting ready to go lifeguard in the rain now.  There won't be too many people at the pool today.  Oh well, at least she has a job.

Hubby has been on the computer all day and there is much cleaning and organizing to do in the house.  I think I will fall down and faint...just kidding.  It is one of those rainy days we are trying to make the best of here in Maryland.  Our entire family still lives under one roof and it can be crazy on days like this.  Nevertheless, we said some prayers and lifted our hearts to God for his guidance and protection.  Let the rain fall down today!!

Five Minute Friday

It's time for Five Minute Fridays with the word GRASP.  Just hook up with this link to learn how and participate.

To all moms, take advantage of the teaching moments to grasp with your children.  They need you.  Even though they can at times be difficult, they are calling out to you in their hearts to tell you they need your love, hugs, and encouragement.

It is a mom who knows their child best.  It is a mom who can instill confidence for the virtuous aspects of life.  You do not find this in all public classrooms.  Please grasp these moments with your children to bring the Lord of Lords into the life of your families.

Pray and read the bible together.  God's Word is powerful.  It shines light on everything Even the corruption in our government.  I was stopped by my son to go to the pool now.  I've gotta get going.  Grasp these moments and enjoy them with your children.  Here is a picture of my little homeschool co-op.  We had fun today with friends!!!

The View with a Head Cold

It's time to link up with Mary Jo for 5 Minute Friday where you just write for 5 minutes without thinking or editing much.  Ready GO...

The post says to "show me what you've got" but I do not feel like I have too much because I'm coming down with a head cold this weekend.  Therefore, my view of this weekend is kind of 'iffy' when I don't have a lot of energy.  My hubby left this morning to help at the beach house for the weekend and he had a cold too.  This Memorial Day weekend we will be apart for the beginning of it with miserable colds...both viewing life blowing our noses and taking brief naps among the chores.

Nevertheless, I'm hoping tomorrow I'll feel better to have tacos with my five kiddos.  Then by Monday maybe hubby can barbeque and we can really celebrate our fallen heroes.  We'll pray together so that our stuffy heads will get a better view of the beauty of this holiday.

Even though the view of my world is topsy turvy right now because I've also had to go up on my meds for PTSD  and the world seems to be passing me by at times, I will still keep a chin up to be thankful for my beautiful family and that I have some time to cuddle under blankets on this cold day in May in Maryland.  I must be going now to run some errands a visit the friendly doctor.  Maybe the fresh air will do me some good and give me a new view of my environment.

Thank you for listening...if anyone out there cares (just kidding).
